Biser nr Harmanli

Sakar Hills Touring Park    June 2008

Excellent little site and a godsend for anyone taking the overland route to Greece. There are a number of British expats in Bulgaria and this site has been developed by Martin and Shirley in the grounds of their house, using equipment imported from the UK. Basically it's a large grassy area with, as yet, not much shade, though trees have been planted and the owners have plans to construct some hardstanding pitches with sun shades over them. The toilet facilities are excellent and there are washing-up/laundry sinks under cover. There is no washing machine but the friendly owners offered to let us use theirs! There is a small general shop/cafe 5 minutes walk away in the village of Biser. This is a very rural area with many interesting archaeological sites which Martin is pleased to tell visitors about. From here to the Greek border is only a short journey.

Veliko Tarnovo

Trinity Rocks Farm     June 2008

We did not write a formal review here.  We felt it was very much work in progress and Cliff, the owner, friendly as he was, seemed to have lost interest.  The washing facilities were poor, being a small room at the back of a barn, electricity supply was very random and we were the only van there.

The potential for an excellent site was there.  More recent trip advisor reviews are good, so maybe work has resumed.
